Unless your fleet admin has ordered a card on your behalf, you will have to order and activate your Rightcharge Public Charge Card. Here's how you do that:
Once you create your Rightcharge account, head to the following:
- On your desktop 🖥️
- Login to Rightcharge's website
- Click My Charging
- Under Public Charging, click Order your Public Charge Card and fill in your address
- On your mobile
- Head to the Rightcharge App
- Click on the Profile Icon 👤 in the top right of the screen.
- Under Public Charging, click Order your Public Charge Card and fill in your address
Our cards usually take between 3-5 working days to arrive, but in busy periods this can take up to 14 days.
Once your card arrives, you'll need to activate it to start using it:
- Under the same Public Charging section mentioned above, click Activate card
- Enter your new card's hexcode. This is the string of letters and numbers at the bottom of your card, underneath the QR code.

If your fleet admin has set your public charging payment access mode to Expenses, you'll be prompted in the 'My Charging' section of the Rightcharge app to connect your credit card before you can use the Rightcharge charge card.
If you open the 'My Charging' section of the app and don't see this prompt, your fleet admin has set your public charging payment access mode to Direct Payment and you're good to go! You can now use your charge card at tens of thousands of public charge points across the UK.
