What is the Gold Card?
The Gold Card is a bolt-on to your standard Rightcharge public charge card. It gives you access to lower charging rates at a small number of partner networks, and adds more charging options to your route. For everything else, you use your standard card as normal.
Your fleet admin has set you up with both. They work as a pair, not a replacement.
Which networks does it work on?
The Gold Card currently works at:
- Sainsbury's Smart Charge
- Be.EV
- BP Pulse
- Ionity
Rates are 49p/kWh for AC (fast charging) and 59p/kWh for DC (rapid and ultra-rapid).
These are some of the most common networks on UK roads, so there's a good chance one is on your route already. Worth checking the map before you commit to a charger elsewhere.
Always check the app before tapping the Gold Card
Before using your Gold Card, open the Rightcharge app and confirm the charger is listed as a Gold Card charger on the map. Do not tap the Gold Card unless the app shows it as compatible.
If the charger isn't showing as a Gold Card charger, use your standard card.
How do I find Gold Card chargers?
Open the app and toggle on Gold Card mode from the map screen. This filters the map to show only compatible chargers nearby. If the charger you're at isn't on that list, it doesn't accept the Gold Card.
It's also worth checking Gold Card mode before you stop, not just when you arrive. You might find a partner network charger a short distance away that's faster or better positioned.
How do I switch between standard and Gold Card mode?
Go to your map screen in the app. Use the toggle to switch between standard and Gold Card mode. Switch to Gold Card mode when you're heading to a partner network charger, and back to standard for everything else.
How do I charge using the Gold Card?
- Open the app and confirm the charger shows as a Gold Card charger on the map.
- Switch to Gold Card mode using the toggle on the map screen.
- Tap the Gold Card on the reader.
- The discounted rate applies automatically.
What if I tap the Gold Card at the wrong charger?
It may not work. The Gold Card is only accepted at partner network chargers shown on the app map. Always check before you tap.
Can I see my charging sessions?
Yes. All sessions, whether standard or Gold Card, are tracked in the Rightcharge app. Your fleet admin can also see them in their dashboard.
