Driver access: what fleet managers control
When fleet managers invite drivers to Rightcharge, they decide what charging access each driver gets:
Home Charging Access
Allows drivers to:
Charge their business EV at home
Be automatically reimbursed for those charging costs
(no expense claims, no estimates)
Public Charging Access
Allows drivers to:
Use the Rightcharge public charge card
Charge across 37+ public networks
Have public charging costs covered by the business (depending on setup)
Drivers can have one or both types of access, depending on how the fleet is set up.
How does Home Charging work?
Home Charging is designed to be accurate, automated, and fair - for both drivers and employers.
Here’s how it works:
The driver connects their home charger, vehicle, and energy tariff to Rightcharge (where supported).
Rightcharge identifies when a business EV is charging at home.
We calculate the exact cost of each charging session, based on the driver’s real energy tariff.
The business reimburses the driver automatically - with full visibility in the dashboard.
No flat rates.
No manual expense claims.
No guesswork.
If a vehicle or energy tariff isn’t supported for automated connections, Rightcharge can still calculate costs using supported charger data.
How does Public Charging work?
Rightcharge gives drivers simple access to public EV charging through its Public Charging Network and electric fuel card.
Here’s what drivers do:
Order and activate their Rightcharge public charge card.
Open the Rightcharge app to find a compatible public charge point.
Drive to the charger and tap the card to start charging.
The charging session appears in the Sessions tab in the app within a few days.
That’s it.
Fleet managers get:
Full visibility of public charging usage
Clear cost tracking per driver
One consolidated monthly invoice
Drivers get:
No out-of-pocket payments (depending on setup)
No receipts
No admin
One platform. One view. One bill.
Rightcharge brings home and public charging together in one place, giving fleets:
Accurate reimbursements
Clear cost and carbon reporting
Fewer admin headaches
A better experience for drivers
